Jungle Straws is a socially responsible company who supply beautiful bamboo drinking straws to businesses and individuals worldwide. Since our inception, our purpose has been to support, educate, and inspire individuals and businesses of all kinds to make the switch to reusable and sustainable alternatives in order to reduce the devastating effects that plastic pollution is having on our planet.
Our ethos epitomises our company values which is why we have overseen all aspects of our manufacturing and supply chain operations in person, relocating to the source of the raw materials in Vietnam in order to develop ethical relationships with the artisans and farms of whom we work with.
Our sustainable bamboo straws and earth-friendly products are not only beautiful, but they are ethically cultivated and crafted with pride. Plastic waste is a large global epidemic that threatens to change our world for good. We, as citizens of that world need to act now.
"Be good, be conscious. We are Jungle Straws."
We proudly challenge modern production techniques that place too much emphasis on profit at the expense of people and our environment. Our values in eco-sustainability are not just about how cheaply a product can be manufactured. Instead, it is of great importance to us that our bamboo straws are sourced responsibly, using natural and organic materials. This limits waste throughout the entire production process, and helps to support local communities in rural areas.
Our farm uses fully sustainable and organic bamboo, free from all chemicals in the production phase. The bamboo we use is harvested naturally without the need for any harmful fertilisers or pesticides, and so growing it doesn’t contribute to any unwelcome elements entering ground-water. We invite you to come and take a look at how we do things by clicking on the button below!
We absolutely love bamboo! Not only does it look and feel great, but it is 100% sustainable, fully biodegradable, and can be harvested in as little as 3-5 years. Bamboo releases 30% more oxygen into our atmosphere and absorbs more carbon dioxide when compared to other plants. Jungle Straws help reduce the heart-breaking and saddening use of plastic and single use plastic items, which are contributing to the demise of wildlife and ocean habitats all around the world.
Jungle Straws are fully biodegradable and 100% organic. They are grown and handcrafted in rural Vietnam. Our natural straws use the entire bamboo stalk and we ensure that there is zero waste. This means that Jungle Straws have mixed diameters due to the naturally varying thickness of the plant, making them absolutely perfect for a wide variety of different drinks.
What’s the point of a reusable drinking straw if you are unable to easily carry it with you when you need it the most? When you buy our bamboo straws, we ship them neatly packaged in eco-friendly, natural hessian storage bags and matching straw sleeves, designed to help people think responsibly and promote the use of their reusable straws each and every day!
So why give up single-use plastic straws and switch to Jungle Straws instead? Humanity’s addiction to plastic is harming our planet and polluting our oceans, as well as damaging habitats and eco-systems. This affects us all on a global scale. We believe that raising awareness and providing alternatives leads to change. Be that change today and support a plastic free world.
Our bamboo straws have been independently tested in order to comply with The European Framework Regulation (EC) 1935 / 2004 and hold the associated SGS certifications for food contact materials. Written Declaration of Compliance (DoC) can be provided upon request by contacting us for further information.

Jungle Culture is the brand behind Jungle Straws. We create unique products with unique stories, working with small farms and local artisans who share our values in sustainable production. We believe in fair and honest manufacturing and care deeply about empowering local communities whom we work alongside.
We believe that businesses should bear the responsibility to ensure that their products and services are made ethically. That is why we take a hands-on approach to product sourcing. When we design and create our sustainable products, we take the time to visit the farm or workshop that manufacture them first, oversee their operation and make sure that everything is created fairly, whilst minimising waste.
We travel to all corners of the globe in order to meet people who we want to work with. For us, sustainable manufacturing is an important part of the eco friendly puzzle, and developing close working relationships and friendships is integral to our company ethos.
By choosing to purchase Jungle Straws, you are doing your bit to support a plastic-free world. Approximately 500 million plastic drinking straws are being thrown into landfills each and every year, and over 8 billion straws are used annually in the UK.
Jungle Straws are a smart, green alternative to keep in your home. Our reusable straws are made from whole stalks of bamboo: nothing recompressed, nothing added! This makes them simple to maintain by adhering to a few quick and easy steps:
1) We advise people to boil their bamboo straws in a little salt and vinegar before using them for the first time. This helps to remove any residue, or remove any ‘woody’ aroma.
2) After each use, rinse your bamboo straw under the tap and every so often clean the inside using the cleaning brush provided. You can even put your Jungle Straws in the dishwasher, but make sure to switch off the hot & dry function and dry them immediately. Easy? We told you so!
3) Always allow your bamboo straws to dry fully but fear not; they dry very quickly! Store your straws in a well-ventilated place, and never in air-tight containers or jars
4) Aside from keeping your Jungle Straws dry, keep them well-ventilated as well. Our natural hessian pouches are breathable, and are the perfect companion for your new purchase.
Tip: Leaving your Jungle Straws to dry naturally in sunlight turns your straws into a bright shade of golden yellow!
Why should I say goodbye to plastic straws?
8 billion: The number of plastic straws used anNually in the UK
200 years: The amount of time it takes for a plastic straw to break up
100,000: The amount of marine animals that die every year from ingesting plastic
2050: The year when experts predict there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish

“It is estimated that nearly 500 million disposable plastic straws are tossed into landfill sites every year - that’s enough to fill 127 school busses with plastic straws every single day of the year.” Jungle Straws are not only a smart, green alternative for consumers, but can also be a solution for responsible business owners that want to be ambassadors for real change. What impact is your plastic usage having on the environment and are you doing enough?
Pushed by a change in consumer attitudes towards single use plastics, EU countries are leaning towards a ban on plastic straws and other similar items. Social media campaigns have also arisen, leading to hashtags such as #nosucking or #thelaststraw
Plastic has become an enemy of the people and it’s up to businesses to get ahead of the curve and start thinking consciously about what products they are using. We can help your business say no to plastic and enable you to be the change that you want to see. WEDDINGS & EVENTS
Weddings and celebrations often mark the most important days in our lives, but sadly many of these events don’t tend to be eco-friendly occasions. Catering for large numbers can often result in a throwaway culture of disposable decor, single-use plastic packaging and food waste, not to mention a large carbon footprint that gets left behind by friends and family members travelling from afar to attend.
At Jungle Straws, although we appreciate that it’s almost impossible to avoid all types of wastage at most weddings and events, we do our upmost to try and make those occasions as eco-friendly as possible by providing sustainable and low waste solutions.
Luckily, an increasing number of couples are thinking more responsibly about the environment and are determined to plan their celebrations with a conscious mindset. In addition, responsible events planners are adopting eco-friendly ideas and principles in order to offer eco-friendly wedding solutions and make their occasions as sustainable as possible.
There are many ways that Jungle Straws can help to make your big day more sustainable. We can provide a number of alternative to plastic solutions, including beautifully engraved custom bamboo straws for weddings, zero waste cutlery sets and authentic coconut bowls, as well as catering for large events and social occasions such as festivals, concerts and corporate celebrations.
For further information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we will be delighted to discuss the ways in which we can help you achieve your eco-friendly goals.

Jungle Straws are one of natures' best friends! They are 100% biodegradable and eco-friendly which is 100% better than using plastic! By purchasing our straws, you can be confident knowing that you're taking steps towards achieving a plastic free world.
Is your bamboo ethically sourced?
Absolutely. The bamboo we use in our reusable drinking straws is 100% sustainable, eco-friendly, and has not contributed to any deforestation. Bamboo requires very few pesticides or heavy machinery to harvest, and all of our straws are proudly cultivated by hand. Come and take a look at how we do things!
Have Jungle Straws been treated using any chemicals, colorants, oils etc?
Over 1 billion plastic and petroleum-based, non-biodegradable straws are used around the world everyday. We take great pride in how we manufacture our eco-friendly straws. We use absolutely no chemicals, pesticides or colourants. Jungle Straws are 100% organic and 100% guilt free!
Are bamboo straws biodegradable?
They certainly are! Jungle straws are fully compostable and can be easily recycled. When you have finished with them, simply put them into a recycling or compost bin, or get creative! Our personal favourite is to use them as plant stands or give them to the kids for homework and craft projects! We do however, strongly advise against using them as pea-shooters!
Can bamboo straws be reused?
Absolutely! Your Jungle Straws can be reused many times over if properly cared for and are a great alternative to plastic. Say goodbye to throw-away straws and start your plastic-free journey today!
How do I store them?
With every pack of Jungle Straws, we include two natural jute bags; one for holding your straws all together in one place, and another that fits inside a single straw. We want people to think and act consciously, so we designed the single straw case in order to provide a convenient solution to be able to carry your Jungle Straw wherever you go!
Can bamboo straws be recycled?
Jungle Straws are made from organic bamboo, which is 100% biodegradable. You can simply throw them away without worrying where they'll end up and what damage they may be doing to the environment. However, our top tip is to use them in your garden as plant stands or give them to the kids for craft projects!
Who are Jungle Straws?
We are an independent UK based company driven to help end the damage that single-use plastic causes to our environment. Our values in eco-sustainability ensure that our bamboo straws are not only beautifully handmade, but are also ethically sourced at a single family-run farm in rural Vietnam, where we have personally overseen the entire manufacturing process from start to finish.
Bamboo is fully sustainable, strong, naturally antibacterial and resistant to mould and mildew. It is essential in the balance between oxygen and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. It grows to full height in under five years and can be harvested easily.
Can bamboo straws go in the dishwasher?
Yes, they are 100% dishwasher safe, but make sure to switch off the hot & dry function and dry them immediately. We also recommend using the cleaning brush provided from time to time to remove any trapped debris, and once a month washing them with boiling water and vinegar. Please visit our Care Guide for further information.
How are bamboo straws made?
The bamboo is cultivated by hand, then it is chopped and filed into the shape of a straw. We believe in zero waste which is why we use the entire bamboo stalk. It is then left to dry in the sun to achieve a well balanced colour. Finally, the straws are pressure washed to remove any dirt residue, and engraved with the Jungle Straws brand name using a fine laser engraver.
Why bamboo straws instead of other alternatives such as metal or paper straws?
Metal straws can take up to 200 years to decompose, they are not biodegradable or organic and they will eventually end up in the ocean or a landfill site. Paper straws are an alternative, but they aren't reusable and become wet after one use.
Are Jungle Straws organic?
Yes, bamboo is completely sustainable and biodegradable and our natural straws never come into contact with any artificial chemicals of any nature.
How long do they last if used regularly? For example, in a bar or a restaurant.
One bamboo straw can be washed hundreds of times and each pack includes twelve straws. We expect them to withstand many months of continuous use before the need to replace them.
What is the length of a Jungle Straw?
Each biodegradable straw is between 20-21cm in length. We use the entire bamboo stalk, thus each straw is a slightly different thickness. Some are great for smoothies and milkshakes, whereas others we prefer for juices and cocktails.
